As A Mum-To-Be You Deserve A Few Treats
A little relief on those days when your back aches and maybe the heat is getting to you when you are pregnant, is exactly what you need! Maybe you were one of ourclients who came for a regular massage before you were pregnant or came with your partner for a couples massage. Now you have to forego the sports or the deep tissue massages and the aromatherapy massage (some essential oils are not advised for the pregnant woman). But after those first few weeks you can look forward to a pregnancy massage at this Manchester Massage centre.

Massage whilst pregnant is now OK
Over recent years opinions have changed and so acting upon recent recommendations by the NHS and other medical sites, we are now looking forward to welcoming you whilst you are expecting your baby to have that specialist massage. A massage given by our especially trained pregnancy / pre-natal massage therapist. We aim to make you as comfortable as possible and so we have the large U shaped pregnancy pillows that will help support your growing bump as you lie on your side. Obviously, those massages where you lay on your front are no longer the position that you can adopt. There are also negative opinions on the massage beds with a hole to accommodate your changed shape, as these are thought to put too much strain on the body simply because of gravity and weight. So something we have decided against. We are happy to help you with either a seated position, standing if that is where you are most at ease, or as we suggest, lying on your side with that lush pillow wrapped around you where needed.
Always tell us at any point if you are not comfortable, maybe have a dizzy spell, or want water, as baby may move and you just need a moment.

Massage expertise and your need to check with your midwife
Pregnancy massages are safe, and listed by the NHS as a complementary therapy that can be used during pregnancy. However, it’s advised by some to avoid having a pregnancy massage in the first trimester, especially if you have a history of miscarriages, so please check with your medical team. The National Childbirth Trust say on their website that massage therapy whilst you are pregnant is shown to give many positive benefits. Our massage therapist who is specially trained in the best techniques to use during a client’s pregnancyis certain that a treatment will bring you a sense of wellbeing, some much deserved relaxation, and better sleep. Seeking your treatment from a fully trained masseuse with the appropriate with “mums-to be” expertise is vital.

What to expect during your treatment
During a pregnancy massage with us at this Northern Quarter massage salon, we shall focus on the areas where you are most likely to be feeling those inevitable aches and pains. We aim to turn them around and make them into feel-good areas! At least until baby moves again!!! So, areas such as the lower back, scalp, feet, hands and face will bring you calm, ease and harmony for you both as you allow your body to unwind under your therapists soothing touch.
